    Cactus On The Roof

    Cuppy's official rooftop event.

    The Story

Cactus On The Roof is an event that fuses together the freshest sounds and old school classics from the heart of Africa with the atmosphere and party vibes reminiscent of Ibiza, all on the rooftops of many highly reputable establishments in London and Nigeria. The event, curated by Cuppy (International artist) has been attended by various well-known individuals from the music scene including Maleek Berry (also our WordPress website client), Juls, Mercdes Benson and Wizkid with guest DJ sets from the likes of Tim Westwood and Docta Cosmic.

    Our Approach

Cactus previously had a one-page site that was quite limited in functionality. Our team was brought on to help design a platform that was capable of driving sales, but also offered visitors insight in to the Cactus brand through content and strong visuals representative of the Cactus brand.

    Work Delivered:

    •  Video Playback
    •  YouTube Video API Integration
    •  Ticketing platform
    •  Social Media Integration

    Design Strategy

The visual appearance of the website was succinct by the name of the brand – CACTUS. With this in mind, our attention was focussed on creating what would become the visual pillars of the website.

We used distinct colours + web technology to emphasise the characteristics of the website.

    Payment system integration

Using WooCommerce, we built a custom theme that securely manages transactions via the website. Stripe provides an interface enabling customers to use their credit/debit cards to pay via the website rather than just the traditional method of redirecting to the third-party platform – an option they could switch to any time using PayPal. This of course gives users a more streamlined experience – the whole payment process taking place in one place.

    Membership management

One of the key requirements for the website was need for tickets to be exclusive to Cactus members. This meant that we needed to build a platform that managed user accounts, provides admin with control in terms of member approvals (as users needed to be verified before being able to to join the club) and applies restrictions to the tickets when certain criteria were not met.

We provided the team with the ability to deactivate the membership segment too, as they wanted to eventually be able to open the event to all.

Strong photography and video content allows users to experience past events.
