New Project

Cuppy

International DJ and artist.

The Story

Cuppy – a natural talented an eclectic DJ with an unrelenting desire to deliver music to the masses in her own style. Her presence is known on an International scale as not only a skilled musician but also in her passion for caring for the welfare of young people as a Global Citizen and Save the Children ambassador .

Selected as Forbes 30 under 30 and host of Apple Music’s “Africa Now” radio show, Cuppy continues deliver spectacularly on the turntables and stands as a force to be reckoned with in what is a patriarchal industry.

Our Approach

Not soon after delivering a website for Cuppy’s ‘Cactus On The Roof’‘, Happy2Host were hired again, this time to perform a new platform that would be her own official website. Of course this was testament to the website we built, but for us this was a new challenge that we were ready to take on.

We were entrusted with translating her offline brand (an area we were very familiar with) to her website.

Work Delivered:

  •  Web development
  •  Logo conversion
  •  Contact form

The power of a good brand

The team immediately saw an opportunity to craft an interface that focussed on Cuppy’s signature look of hot pink and cupcakes – a visual queue used to identify her brand.

Pink + space grey + white were the overall colours used behind the design. The home page welcomes the enduser with a strong image (which can be changed by Cuppy’s team at any time) and a video that autoplays with a simple dismissal button.

Our builds utilise WordPress functionality (inc content blocks + galleries) enabling teams to build content how they want.

Functional + bespoke

We built a WordPress website that afforded Cuppy’s team the ability to update content easily for all areas of the website. The previous instalment of the website became ‘rigid’ and had provided no room for major changes to follow Cuppy’s fast-growing profile.

Our designs focussed on the requirements for Cuppy’s website and our development ensured all functions and interactions were built with precision.

Logo format

High versions of the logo were available, but getting ahold of vector formats proved more difficult. We resourced our designer to accurately recreate the established branding mark for Cuppy – a fairly simple job for a skilled artist.

We defined a visual hierarchy that enabled us to seamlessly create pages that stand inline with the brand.
